CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />PETITION FOR REAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT CONSIDERATION <br />The undersigned owner(s) of real property, located within the City of South Bend, <br />hereby petition the Common Council of the City of South Bend for real property tax <br />abatement consideration and pursuant to I.C., 6-1.1-12.1-1, et seq., and South Bend <br />Municipal Code Sec. 2-76 et seq., for this petition states the following: <br />1. Describe the proposed redevelopment or rehabilitation project, including <br />information about physical improvements to be made, the proposed use of the <br />improvements, and a general statement as to the importance of the project to <br />your business: <br />i. <br />We are purchasing 2 buildings in the CBD of Downtown South Bend's East Race <br />Village area, 511 E Colfax and 210 Niles. We plan on renovation the 2800 sft Colfax <br />building by making a new entry, adding windows, redesigning the office space, <br />adding a kitchen break room, conference room, engineering center and restrooms <br />that are handicap accessible. We plan on reworking the facade by adding windows <br />and new doors, lightning, landscaping and paving parking areas. We plan on <br />redeveloping the adjoining empty lot into a courtyard with a wrought iron gate and <br />a few parking spots. We plan on adding security and perimeter lighting. This <br />facility will be set up with state of the art IT capabilities and we hope to give the <br />look of a High Tech Research environment. The adjoining 2588 sft facility, having a <br />separate address of 210 Niles Ave., wilt be renovated by replacing windows and <br />doors, power washing and painting, replacing the roof, surfacing floors, adding <br />security and lighting, renovating the bathroom, and adding utilities as needed to <br />support a research & development laboratory. <br />Land <br />Size .z6 acres; Building Size 5388 sq.ft. <br />2. Describe the overall nature of the business and of the operations occurring at <br />the Property (attach additional sheet if more space is needed): <br />Odyssian Technology began operations in February 2003 as a result of an Indiana 21'` <br />Century Research and Technology Fund grant. <br />Odyssian Technology is a high technology company focused on technoloQV innovation and <br />creative product development related to advanced lightweight composites, multifunctional <br />structure, smart structure, and integrated systems. Odyssian is involved in developing <br />technology and products for both the military and consumer market place. Exciting work is <br />underway in the development of: hand launched aircraft with structurally integrated systems <br />(Rev 8111 /03) <br />
