(4520-6' �... <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SOUTH BEND,INDIANA PUBLICLY THANKING AND COMMENDING DR.FRED FERLIC FOR <br /> DILIGENTLY SERVING AS THE 4T"DISTRICT COUNCIL MEMBER FROM 2012-2015 <br /> @re since 1979, Dr. Fred Ferlic has been practicing orthopedic surgery and serving the community <br /> with his primary goal always being"...to make a difference in the life of every patient and citizen I encounter and <br /> provide a positive impact on our community"; and <br /> in the May 2011 City Primary election, Doc won 51.4% of the ballots in his first bid for elected <br /> office in a highly-contested 5-person race; and <br /> throughout his term serving the residents and businesses of the 4th District, Doc has been known <br /> for his pro-active and unique abilities to address code enforcement and quality of life concerns by having a bevy <br /> of lawnmowers in the back of his F150 and engaging youth and homeowners to see that their lots are routinely <br /> cut and cleared of debris; for developing private/public park initiatives,and for actively seeking creative solutions <br /> to countless constituent concerns well into the night; and <br /> 0- Doc has also been a very vocal advocate for public safety, having served on the successful City <br /> Advisory Negotiating Team who reached agreement with representative of the FOP Lodge No. 36 for a 2-year <br /> agreement, and as a very spirited advocate for more crime-fighting resources to help enhance public safety in <br /> residential neighborhoods throughout the city. <br /> aJ re,lenral44&ale y/d�Ny/9. t tIgirte4 Siena, ,os: <br /> Section I. The Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, is proud to publicly commend and thanks <br /> Dr. Fred Ferlic for his four (4) years of dedicated public service as the 4th District Council Member. We will <br /> always have video-proof of Doc's commitment to actively participate in committee and Council meetings which <br /> often resulted in him wearing his blue-colored scrubs as he rushed to such meetings straight from the operating <br /> room. Doc and his son, Gavin, also made history by being the first father and son serving as elected public <br /> officials on the South Bend Common Council from 2012-2015. <br /> Section II. The Common Council sincerely wishes Doc,his wife MJ, and their families, all the best in the years <br /> ahead, as they cheer on their Fighting Irish and host tailgate and holiday parties with mouthwatering refreshments <br /> for all. We welcome Doc's continued public service on the CSO special committee, and his willingness to <br /> volunteer his time and many talents to continue to pursue and develop sustainable and creative park and code <br /> enforcement initiatives which benefit the residents of South Bend.
