RESOLUTION NO. Q43- s`a A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, RECOMMENDING THAT THE CITY ADMINISTRATION CONSIDER EAR- MARKING A PORTION OF THE MISCELLANEOUS REVENUES GENERATED FROM THE $50 . 00 SNOW EMERGENCY TICKETS FOR THE PURCHASING OF V- BLADES FOR THE CITY SANITATION TRUCKS WHEREAS , the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, recognizes that several hundred $50 . 00 snow emergency tickets have been issued this winter; and WHEREAS , the Common Council recognizes that the City will receive a substantial amount of miscellaneous revenue through the payment of these fines ; and WHEREAS , the Common Council believes that the public should benefit directly from some of this revenue by earmarking a portion of it for the purpose of equipping each City Sanitation truck with a V-blade beneath the body of the truck; and WHEREAS, the Common Council believes that if each City Sanitation truck was properly equipped with a V-blade during the months of mid-November through the beginning of April, that each truck could assist in opening many public alleys throughout the City during this period of time ; and WHEREAS, the Common Council further believes that if a portion of this money would be used in this way, that it would be positively received, and would directly benefit the general public ; and WHEREAS , the Common Council believes that this project is in the public interest , and should be strongly supported. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows : SECTION I . The Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, recommends that the City Administration consider ear-marking a portion of the miscellaneous revenues generated from the fines of the snow emergency tickets for the purpose of equipping each City Sanitation truck with a V-blade beneath the body of the truck to help assist in opening public alleys during the winter season. SECTION II . The Common Council believes that this project would be a positive use of such unanticipated revenues , and would directly benefit the general public of the City of South Bend. SECTION III .
