RESOLUTION NO. t O d 1 - 2 1 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, COMMEMORATING THE MANY CONTRIBUTIONS MADE TO OUR COMMUN- ITY BY THE LATE CLYDE E. WILLIAMS , SR. WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, recognizes with sadness that one of its finest and most dedicated citizens , Clyde E. Williams , Sr. , has recently passed away; and WHEREAS, the Council recognizes with pride the years of 1938 to 1942 when Clyde E. Williams , Sr. served with distinction as City Engineer; and WHEREAS, the Council notes some of the many positions and honors which Clyde E. Williams , Sr.. held and received, such as : the founder of Clyde E. Williams & Associates , Inc. ; a member of the South Bend Redevelopment Commission; past Chairman of the Indiana Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers ; past Chairman of the Indiana Section of the American Water Works Association; past President of Consulting Engineers of Indiana, Inc. ; past Director of the St. Joseph Valley Chapter of the Indiana Section of Professional Engineers ; recipient of the 1965 Engineer of the Year Award and Award of Merit in 1974, and memberships in many benevolent organizations of our community; and WHEREAS, the professionalism and countless contributions made to the City of South Bend and to the Engineering profession by the late Clyde E. Williams , Sr. make up a rich legacy for our ? Community to cherish and emulate into the future. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana as follows : SECTION I. On behalf of the citizens of South Bend, Indiana, the Common Council hereby publicly commemorates the late Clyde E. Williams , Sr. for a life of dedicated service and contribution to our community and to the profession of Engineering which he served. SECTION II. The Common Council expresses its deepest sympathy to Mrs . Clyde E. Williams, Sr. and her family, and hopes that the rich memories of her husband will brighten the days ahead. SECTION III.
