RESOLUTION NO. 9219-fl <br /> A RESOLUTION URGING A CONTINUATION OF SERVICE TO <br /> ST. JOSEPH COUNTY BY THE SOUTH SHORE RAILROAD AND <br /> URGING RELOCATION OF THE SOUTH SHORE STATION TO THE <br /> MICHIANA REGIONAL AIRPORT <br /> WHEREAS, the City of South Bend acknowledges that <br /> consideration has been given to the possibility of discontinuing <br /> service by the Chicago , South Shore and South Bend Railroad to <br /> South Bend and St. Joseph County; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of South Bend recognizes the importance <br /> of continued South Shore service to the City of South Bend and the <br /> St. Joseph County area as a vital rail link between this area and <br /> points west, including Chicago; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND: <br /> SECTION I. The City of South Bend urges a deter- <br /> mination by the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation <br /> District to continue service by the South Shore Railroad to the City <br /> of South Bend and St. Joseph County. <br /> SECTION II. The City of South Bend urges a decision by <br /> the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District to relocate <br /> the South Shore Station from its present site to the Michiana <br /> Regional Airport. <br /> SECTION III.
