RESOLUTION NO. I b R R -$3 A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEMD COMMON COUNCIL AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE DIVISION OF TRAFFIC SAFETY, INDIANA DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS, FOR A HIGHWAY SAFETY PROJECT GRANT. WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of South Bend is the chief executive officer of the City and is the applicant for a Highway Safety Project Grant from the Division of Traffic Safety of the Indiana Department of Highways . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SOUTH BEND COMMON COUNCIL, as follows : SECTION I. That the Mayor of the City of South Bend is hereby authorized to submit an application to the Division of Traffic Safety of the Indiana Department of Highways for a Highway Safety Project Grant in the amount of $4, 781 .25 for purchase of breathalizer equipment to improve our enforcement of traffic safety laws . Local matching funds would be provided out of the Police Department budget in the amount of $1 ,593.75. SECTION II. For every catagory established under this resolution the Police Department shall submit to the Common Council a line item budget in ordinance form prior to any expenditures of money received upon approval of the application. SECTION III.
