RESOLUTION NO. LI o _g <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS <br /> WITHIN THE CITY COMMONLY KNOWN AS 1710 NORTH <br /> SHERIDAN AVE, SOUTH BEND, IN. 46628. <br /> AN ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREA FOR PURPOSES <br /> OF REAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT. <br /> WHEREAS, a petition for real property tax abatement consid- <br /> eration has been filed with the Common Council of the City of South <br /> Bend, requesting that the area commonly known as 1710 North Sheridan <br /> Ave. , South Bend, In. 46628 , and which is more particularly described <br /> by a line drawn as follows: <br /> A parcel of land being a part of the Northwest Quarter of the South- <br /> east Quarter fo Section 33, Township 38 North, Range 2 East, and a <br /> part of the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana being more <br /> particularly described as follows, viz; <br /> Commencing at the Northwest Corner of the Southeast Quarter <br /> of said Section 33; thence South 89°-O1'-14" West along the <br /> west line of said Southeast Quarter of Section 33, a distance <br /> of889. 84 feet; thence South 89°-40 '-09" East, along the <br /> South right-o.f-way,, line of Voorde Drive and its projection, <br /> a distance of 254 feet to the place of beginning for this de- <br /> scription: thence continuing South 89°-40 '-09" East, along <br /> said South right-of-way, a distance of213 . 47 feet; thence <br /> South 0°-19 '-51" West, a distance of 407. 56 feet to the North <br /> right-of-way line of Keller Street; thence North 890-58 '-08" <br /> West, along said North right-of-way line, , a distance of 213. 47 <br /> feet; thence North 0°-19 ' 51" East, along the East line of a <br /> parcel of land conveyed to Gibbs Wire and Steel Company, Inc. <br /> by Warranty Deed recorded in Book 815, Page 594in the Office <br /> of the Recorder of St. Joseph County, Indiana, a distance of <br /> 408 .68 feet to the place of beginning containing 2. 00 acres, <br /> more or less. <br /> Subject to any easements, covenants or restrictions of record. <br /> be designated as an Economic Revitalization Area under the provisions of <br /> Indiana Code 6-1. 1-12.1-1, et seq. ; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Commission has concluded an in- <br /> vestigation and prepared a report with information sufficient for the <br /> Common Council to determine that the area qualifies as an Economic Re- <br /> vitalization Area under Indiana Code 6-1. 1-12. 1-1, et seq. , and has <br /> further prepared maps and plats showing the boundaries and such other <br /> information as required by law of the area in question; and <br /> WHEREAS the Human Resources and Economic Development Com- <br /> mittee of the Common Council has reviewed said report and recommended <br /> to the Common Council that the area qualifies as an Economic Revital- <br /> ization Area. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the <br /> City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br /> SECTION I. That the Common Council hereby accepts the report <br /> and recommendation of the Human Resources and Economic Development <br /> Committee that the area herein described be designated an Economic Revital- <br /> ization Area and hereby adopts a resolution designating this area as an <br /> Economic Revitalization Area for purposes of real property tax abatement. <br />
