RESOLUTION NO. LI o _g A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN THE CITY COMMONLY KNOWN AS 1710 NORTH SHERIDAN AVE, SOUTH BEND, IN. 46628. AN ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREA FOR PURPOSES OF REAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT. WHEREAS, a petition for real property tax abatement consid- eration has been filed with the Common Council of the City of South Bend, requesting that the area commonly known as 1710 North Sheridan Ave. , South Bend, In. 46628 , and which is more particularly described by a line drawn as follows: A parcel of land being a part of the Northwest Quarter of the South- east Quarter fo Section 33, Township 38 North, Range 2 East, and a part of the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana being more particularly described as follows, viz; Commencing at the Northwest Corner of the Southeast Quarter of said Section 33; thence South 89°-O1'-14" West along the west line of said Southeast Quarter of Section 33, a distance of889. 84 feet; thence South 89°-40 '-09" East, along the South right-o.f-way,, line of Voorde Drive and its projection, a distance of 254 feet to the place of beginning for this de- scription: thence continuing South 89°-40 '-09" East, along said South right-of-way, a distance of213 . 47 feet; thence South 0°-19 '-51" West, a distance of 407. 56 feet to the North right-of-way line of Keller Street; thence North 890-58 '-08" West, along said North right-of-way line, , a distance of 213. 47 feet; thence North 0°-19 ' 51" East, along the East line of a parcel of land conveyed to Gibbs Wire and Steel Company, Inc. by Warranty Deed recorded in Book 815, Page 594in the Office of the Recorder of St. Joseph County, Indiana, a distance of 408 .68 feet to the place of beginning containing 2. 00 acres, more or less. Subject to any easements, covenants or restrictions of record. be designated as an Economic Revitalization Area under the provisions of Indiana Code 6-1. 1-12.1-1, et seq. ; and WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Commission has concluded an in- vestigation and prepared a report with information sufficient for the Common Council to determine that the area qualifies as an Economic Re- vitalization Area under Indiana Code 6-1. 1-12. 1-1, et seq. , and has further prepared maps and plats showing the boundaries and such other information as required by law of the area in question; and WHEREAS the Human Resources and Economic Development Com- mittee of the Common Council has reviewed said report and recommended to the Common Council that the area qualifies as an Economic Revital- ization Area. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: SECTION I. That the Common Council hereby accepts the report and recommendation of the Human Resources and Economic Development Committee that the area herein described be designated an Economic Revital- ization Area and hereby adopts a resolution designating this area as an Economic Revitalization Area for purposes of real property tax abatement.
