ORDINANCE NO. a U .:5 5 <br /> AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 31-A OF ORDINANCE <br /> NO. 2806 ADOPTED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL THE <br /> 11th DAY OF NOVEMBER, 1929 AND BEING AP <br /> ORDINANCE. AMENDING "ORDINANCE NO.2752 <br /> KNOWN AS AN ORDINANCE TO LICENSE AND <br /> REGULATE TAXICAB OWNERS AND TAXICAB <br /> DRIVERS, etc. , BY CREATING AND <br /> ADDING THERETO THREE NEW SECTIONS <br /> TO BE NUMBERED 31—A, 31—B, 31—C." <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South <br /> Bend, Indiana: <br /> • <br /> SECTION 1. That Section 31—A Ordinance No. 2806 adopted by the <br /> Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana on the 11th day <br /> of November 1929 and being "An Ordinance to amend an Ordinance <br /> No. 2752 known as an Ordinance to license and regulate taxicab owner <br /> ers and taxicab drivers, etc. , by creating and adding thereto three <br /> new sections to be numbered 31—A, 31—B, 31-0" , be and the same is <br /> hereby amended to read as follows, to-wit: <br /> SECTION 31—A. Every taxicab licensed under the provisions of said <br /> ordinance shall have the number of the license plainly printed in <br /> figures, large enough to be visible at a distance of, at least, <br /> 150 feet, on the main panel of ' each of the rear doors and on the <br /> rear of said vehicle and no other lettering or figure's shall appear <br /> in the proximity of said unmbers upon any such vehicle. Said number <br /> shall be removed in the event of change of ownership of said vehicle, <br /> and if again used as a taxicab the proper number shall be placed <br /> thereon before' the same shall be used again. <br /> SECTION' 2. The penalty for the violation of any provision of this <br /> Ordinance shall be the same as is provided in Section 32 of Ordinance <br /> Number 2752 and Section 31—E of Ordinance 2806 to—wit: A fine not <br /> exceeding Three hundred ($300.00) Dollars, or by imprisonment in the !, <br /> County Jail for a period not to exceed three (3) months or by both <br /> such fine and imprisonment . <br /> SECTION 3.
