' a (X-ccy <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND DESIGNATING CERTAIN <br /> AREAS WITHIN THE CITY COMMONLY KNOWN AS <br /> 3607 SOUTH MAIN STREET, SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br /> AN ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREA FOR <br /> PURPOSES OF PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT. <br /> WHEREAS, a petition for personal property tax abate- <br /> ment consideration has been filed with the Common Council of <br /> the City of South Bend, requesting that the area commonly known <br /> as 3607 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana, and which is <br /> more particularly described as follows: <br /> The following described real estate located in St. <br /> Joseph County, Indiana: <br /> Lots 1 thru 5 as shown on the plat of Ida M. Walz 's <br /> Subdivision to the City of South Bend, Indiana <br /> recorded October 13 , 1938 in Plat Book 14 , page W-5 <br /> and Lots "D" and "E" as shown on the plat of John E. <br /> Walz ' s Revised Addition to the City of South Bend <br /> recorded June 28 , 1928 in Plat Book 12, page 196 <br /> together with vacated Lafayette Boulevard and vacated <br /> alleys lying between and adjacent to above said <br /> recorded lots and also a parcel of land 28 feet North <br /> and South by 211.75 feet , more or less, East and West <br /> in the Southwest 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section <br /> 24 , Township 37 North, Range 2 East, Portage Township, <br /> City of South Bend, County of St. Joseph, Indiana ly- <br /> ing South and adjacent to above said recorded plats, <br /> the above combined tract being more particularly de- <br /> scribed as follows: <br /> Beginning at the Northeast corner of Lot 1 as shown on <br /> said recorded plat of Ida M. Walz 's Subdivision, said <br /> point being the Southwest corner of Main Street and <br /> Sherwood Street; thence West along the South line of <br /> Sherwood Street 465.85 feet to a point 7 feet East of <br /> the West line of said Section 24 , being also the East <br /> line of a 7 foot alley; thence South along said East <br /> line of alley 246 .6 feet to the South line of said <br /> John E. Walz ' s Revised Addition; thence East along <br /> said South line 234.55 feet to a point 211.75 feet <br /> West of the West line of Main Street, as now estab- <br /> lished; thence South 28 feet; thence East parallel <br /> with the South line of said recorded plat of John E. <br /> Walz ' s Revised Addition 209 .82 feet to the West line <br /> of Main Street; thence Northeasterly along said West <br /> line of Main Street 282. 92 feet to the point of begin- <br /> ning. <br /> be designated as an Economic Revitalization Area under the pro- <br /> visions of Indiana Code 6-1. 1-12.1-1, et seq. ; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Commission has concluded an <br /> investigation and prepared a report with information sufficient <br /> for the Common Council to determine that the area qualifies as <br /> an Economic Revitalization Area under Indiana Code 6-1.1- <br /> 12. 1-1, et seq. , and has further prepared maps and plats show- <br />
