RESOLUTION NO. <br /> A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE ADOPTION OF A DECLARATORY <br /> RESOLUTION DESIGNATING CERTAIN AREAS WITHIN THE CITY <br /> OF SOUTH BEND, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE SOUTHEAST CORNER <br /> OF MAIN AND WASHINGTON STREETS, SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br /> TO BE AN ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION AREA <br /> FOR PURPOSES OF TAX ABATEMENT. <br /> WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend <br /> has adopted a Declaratory Resolution designating certain areas <br /> within the City as Economic Revitalization Areas for the pur- <br /> pose of tax abatement consideration; and <br /> WHEREAS, a Declaratory Resolution designated the area <br /> commonly known as the Southeast Corner of Main and Washington <br /> Streets, South Bend, Indiana , and more particularly described <br /> as follows: <br /> The following described real estate in the City of South <br /> Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana, to-wit: <br /> Lots Numbered Thirty-Five (35) and Thirty-Six <br /> (36) as shown on the recorded Original Plat of <br /> the Town, now City of South Bend, St. Joseph <br /> County, Indiana , except a strip of land 21 feet <br /> in width East and West, taken off of and from the <br /> entire East end of said lots, more particularly <br /> described as follows: North on and along the <br /> West line of Lots 35 and 36 , a distance of 132 .45 <br /> feet to the Northwest corner of Lot 36; thence <br /> East on and along the North line of Lot 36 a dis- <br /> tance of 144 .73 feet to a point that is 21 .0 feet <br /> West of the Northeast corner of said Lot 36 ; <br /> thence South a distance of 132 .45 feet to a point <br /> on the South line of said Lot 35, that is 21. 0 <br /> feet West of the Southeast corner of Lot 35; <br /> thence West on and along the South line of said <br /> lot 35 a distance of 144 .73 feet to the point of <br /> beginning. <br /> A part of the 14 foot wide alley that is known as <br /> Rasmussen Court and the Eastern 21 feet of Lots <br /> Numbered Thirty-five (35) and Thirty-six (36) of <br /> the Original Plat of the Town (now City) of South <br /> Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana, more particu- <br /> larly described as follows: Beginning at the <br /> Northwest corner of Lot 25 of the Original Plat <br /> of the Town (now City) of South Bend , St. Joseph <br /> County, Indiana; thence South a distance of <br /> 132 .45 feet along the East line of said alley to <br /> the Southwest corner of Lot 26; thence West a <br /> distance of 35.0 feet along the prolongation of <br /> the South line of Lot 26; thence North a distance <br /> of 132 .45 feet and parallel to the West line of <br /> the alley; thence East a distance of 35. 0 feet <br /> along the prolongation of the North line of Lot <br /> 36 to the point of beginning. <br /> as an Economic Revitalization Area; and <br /> WHEREAS, notice of the adoption of a Declaratory Reso- <br /> lution and the public hearing before the Council has been pub- <br /> lished pursuant to Indiana Code 6-1 .1-12 .1-2-5, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Council held a public hearing for the <br /> purposes of hearing all remonstrances and objections from <br /> interested persons; and <br />
