RESOLUTION NO. %ay q4q <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF <br /> THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, SUPPORTING <br /> MACOG IN ITS EFFORTS TO SECURE FUNDING FOR <br /> A FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR THE POSSIBLE REVITALI- <br /> ZATION OF THE HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEM IN <br /> THE STUDEBAIZER CORRIDOR <br /> WHEREAS, the City of South Bend, Indiana, over the past several <br /> years has taken aggressive action to rebuild under utilized and <br /> distressed areas of our community; and <br /> WHEREAS , in particular, the City of South Bend has targeted the <br /> Studebaker Corridor as an area to be revitalized as a prime economic <br /> location due to its location in the near downtown; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Common Council has been advised that the Michiana . <br /> Area Council of Governments (MACOG) is in the process of securing <br /> funding from the U. S. Department of Energy to determine the feasibility <br /> of revitalizing the old heating and cooling system in the Studebaker <br /> Complex. <br /> WHEREAS, the Council supports such a study which would determine <br /> whether energy costs could be reduced for the Corridor , and thus <br /> help attract new businesses and revitalize this area of our City. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City <br /> of South Bend, Indiana as follows : <br /> SECTION I. The Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana <br /> supports the Michiana Area Council of Governments in its attempt to <br /> secure funding from the U. S . Department of Energy for a feasibility <br /> study to determine the feasibility of revitalizing and rejuvenating <br /> the old heating and cooling system in the Studebaker Complex. <br /> SECTION II. The Council directs the City Clerk to send a copy <br /> of this Resolution to Mr. Charles W. Minkler, Executive Director of <br /> MACOG for inclusion in their grant application to the U. S.
