RESOLUTION NO. l a7$-g <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, COMMEMORATING <br /> THE MANY CONTRIBUTIONS MADE TO OUR COMMUNITY <br /> BY THE LATE HENRY FERRETTIE <br /> WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, notes <br /> with sincere sadness the passing of one of St. Joseph County's finest and <br /> most dedicated public servants, Henry "Hank" Ferrettie; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Common Council recognizes with pride his eight (8) years <br /> as a Democratic Commissioner from District 3; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Common Council notes that one of Hank Ferrettie's greatest <br /> contributions to our County was his leadership in bringing "cooperation, <br /> pride, and enthusiasm" to public office; and <br /> WHEREAS, there are other countless contributions throughout our <br /> community which are tributes to the hard work of Hank Ferrettie, some of <br /> which include: the County Services Buildings in Mishawaka; the Capital <br /> Avenue Bridge; the continuation of passenger service on the Chicago, South <br /> Shore and South Bend Railroads; and his many years of service on County, <br /> regional, and other civic boards and commisisions; and <br /> WHEREAS, the sincerity and loyal dedication which the late Henry <br /> Ferrettie brought to the Office of County Commissioner is just a part of the <br /> rich legacy which our community will long remember. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of <br /> South Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br /> SECTION I. On behalf of the citizens of South Bend, Indiana, the <br /> Common Council hereby publicly commemorates the late Henry "Hank" Ferrettie, <br /> for a life filled with dedicated service whereby so many individuals were <br /> touched and enriched by knowing him. <br /> SECTION II. The Common Council expresses its deepest sympathy to <br /> Pauline Ferrettie and her family, and sincerely hopes that the rich and <br /> abundant memories of her husband will brighten the years ahead. <br /> SECTION III.
