Street, a distance of 311. 7 feet to a point which is <br /> 14 . 6 feet Southerly of said track of The New York <br /> Central Railroad Company measured at right angles to <br /> said straight line, said point being also . 1 feet <br /> Northerly of the Northwesterly corner of the top of <br /> retaining wall extending Westerly from the South- <br /> westerly pylon of the bridge of The New York Central <br /> Railroad Company over Prairie Street, said line passes <br /> through a point marked by a drill hole placed in the <br /> face of the retaining wall situated on the East side <br /> of said Scott Street at a point 3 feet above sidewalk <br /> level; thence Southerly along a straight line forming <br /> an angle of 94°50 ' to last described straight line, <br /> measured from West to South, a distance of 4 . 6 feet to <br /> a point distant 2 . 75 feet by rectangular measurement <br /> Southeasterly from the face of the retaining wall <br /> aforesaid; thence Easterly along a straight line <br /> parallel to said retaining wall, a distance of 31 . 8 <br /> feet, more or less, to a point in the Westerly line of <br /> Prairie Avenue and forming an angle of 66°30 ' with the <br /> said Westerly line of Prairie Avenue measured from <br /> West to South, said point in the Westerly line of <br /> Prairie Avenue being 18 . 9 feet, more or less, South- <br /> westerly of the center line of said track of The New <br /> York Central Railroad Company measured along the said <br /> Westerly line of Prairie Avenue, said point also being <br /> 112 . 8 feet, more or less, Northeasterly of the inter- <br /> section of said Westerly line of Prairie Avenue with <br /> the Northerly line of said parcel of land conveyed to <br /> The Standard Oil Company by deed dated August 14th, <br /> 1893 , as aforesaid. <br /> ALL PARCELS: Located in St . Joseph County, Indiana . <br /> be designated as an Economic Revitalization Area under the pro- <br /> visions of Indiana Code 6-1 . 1-12 . 1-1, et seq. ; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Redevelopment Commission has concluded an <br /> investigation and prepared a report with information sufficient <br /> for the Common Council to determine that the area qualifies as <br /> an Economic Revitalization Area under Indiana Code <br /> 6-1 . 1-12 . 1-1, et seq. , and has further prepared maps and plats <br /> showing the boundaries and such other information as required <br /> by law of the area in question; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Human Resources and Economic Development <br /> Committee of the Common Council has reviewed said report and <br /> recommended to the Common Council that the area qualifies as an <br /> Economic Revitalization Area . <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council <br /> of the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows : <br /> SECTION I . That the Common Council hereby accepts the <br /> report and recommendation of the Human Resources and Economic <br /> Development Committee that the area herein described be desig- <br /> nated an Economic Revitalization Area and hereby adopts a reso- <br /> lution designating this area as an Economic Revitalization Area <br /> for purposes of personal property tax abatement . <br /> SECTION II . That this designation shall be limited to <br /> five (5) calendar years from the date of the adoption of this <br /> Resolution by the Common Council . <br /> SECTION III . That the Common Council directs the City <br /> Clerk to cause notice of the adoption of this resolution to be <br /> published, said publication providing notice of the public <br /> hearing before the Common Council on said declaration. <br /> -2- <br />
