<br />1. Notice of Withdrawal of Cell Tower Lease Offer- Director St. Clair <br /> Director St. Clair reported that Charles Hayes, Inc. had withdrawn their cell tower lease <br />proposal. <br /> <br /> <br />2.Awarding of Zoo Project Quotes Opened at December 8 Special Meeting. <br />Zoo Director DeRosa and Mr. Chet Gamble opened quotes on additional projects at <br />Potawatomi Zoo at the special meeting held on December 8, 2008. <br />Based on those quotes, they recommended the following projects be awarded: <br />Primate Building Renovation- Brown & Brown- $41,419 <br />Moat Wall- Brown & Brown- $59,208 <br />Australia Bridge & Fencing- Kaser-Spraker Construction- $46,917 <br />Concession Building Renovation- Brown & Brown- $5,872 <br />Dr. Kelly made a motion to award the quotes as recommended. Mr. Goodrich seconded <br />the motion and it was passed. <br /> <br />Butterfly and Vet Hospital HVAC- North Central Mechanical, Inc- $51,551 <br />Mr. Goodrich a motion to award the quote as recommended. Mr. Mullins seconded the <br />motion and it was passed. <br /> <br />Mr. Gamble requested that the Board approve Change Order #2 to Kaser-Spraker in the <br />amount of $56,587. <br />Mr. Goodrich made a motion to approve Change Order #2 in the amount of $56,587. Dr. <br />Kelly seconded the motion and it was passed. <br /> <br />Mr. Gamble presented a number of sole source items to be approved by the Board. They <br />were as follows: <br />Ultra Violet Water Filters- Beaver Research- $19,200 <br />Concrete Kitchen Floor- Stonhard- $11,000 <br />Mesh Fencing for Bear Enclosure- A thru Z- $26,256 <br />Bear Holding Cages- LGL- $17,086 <br />Bird Caging- Corner, Ltd- $18,000 <br />Mr. Goodrich made a motion to approve the single source items. Dr. Kelly seconded the <br />motion and it was passed. <br /> <br /> <br />Ms. O’Connor asked that Ms. Janice Miller be recognized for almost 31 years of service <br />to the Department and the City, currently as an Academic Coordinator at the Martin <br />Luther King Center. <br />Mayor Luecke presented Ms. Miller with the key to the City for her service to the citizens <br />of South Bend. <br /> <br /> <br />IV.The next order of business was new business. <br /> <br />1.
