/� r 1 r (11 ORDINANCE N0. o� / 0 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBDIVISION THIRD OF SECTION ONE OF 42414.4e4, 44644 Al ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS lIY& r T FIFTNN' , SEVENTEEN AND TWENTY OF AN O NANCE REGULATING THE USE -OF STEMI 97 EYS AND COURTS IN THE CTTfF—SOUTH BS,iDIAC CU PEDTRIAN TRAFFIC BlOkDINAN CE DUELER 26b - I WHEREAS, Subdivision "i" of Section 5 of Ordinance Number 2653, enacted on August 8th, 1927, by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indianai was amended by Ordinance Number 2666, to al- low vehicles to be parked at the ourb on the same side of the streets and parallel to other vehicles; provided that such peaking (or double . parking) shall not be permitted for a period of more than five (5) minutes at a time; and WHEREAS, the said amendment allowing double parking for not more than five (5) minutes has allowed an abuse of the traffic upon the streets and public places of said City. NOW BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend; Indiana. SECTION 1. Section 1 of said Ordinance Number said ubdiviaion S "a of Sec i That 2666, which allowed double parking for not to exceed five (5) minutes, be and the same is hereby repealed. 3&CTION 2. ' That all the provisions of said Subdivision "i" of said See- tion5 of said Ordinance Number 2653 be and the same IV/hereby reinstat- ed and said Section 5 and Subdivision "i" read as follows, to-wit: "No parking or standing of vehicles on any street shall be permitted at any time in the following location, except in ease of emergency or delays in traffic movement, or by direction of an officer or automatic signal. "i" in any public street parallel to any other vehicle parked at the curb on the same side of the street, that is, double parking is hereby prohibited." SECTION 3. That all of the provisions of said Ordinance Number 2653 as amended by said Ordinance Number 2666, except as to said "third" sub- division of Section 1 of said.
