<br />  							,QTY DE SOUT$ BEND,  INDIANA.
<br />     				WHEREAS,  the  Grand Trunk Western  Railway  Company  is  now,    		'
<br /> 		pursuant  to  Ordinances  duly  enacted,  protecting  the  intersections  of
<br /> 		its  right-of-way  with  the  following  named public  streets  in the  City
<br /> 		of South Bend,  Indiana,  with  a flagman  from 6:00  o'clock  A.M.,  until
<br /> 		midnight  each  day,  to-wit:    St.  Joseph  Street,  Main  Street,  Lafayette
<br /> 		Boulevard,  Franklin  Street,  William Street,  Taylor  Street,  Scott  Street
<br /> 		and  Chapin  Street,
<br />     				And  at  Laurel  Street with  a  flagman  from 6:00  o'clock  A.M.,
<br /> 		until  6:00  o'clock P.M.,  each  day,
<br />      				And  at  Michigan  Street,  by maintaining  a  flagman  at  said
<br /> 		crossing  for  and  during  the  twenty-four  (24)  hours  of  each  day.
<br />      				NOW,  THEREFORE,  BE  IT  ORDAINED  by  the  Common  Council  of  the
<br /> 		City  of  South  Bend,  Indiana.
<br /> 		SECTION  is
<br />      				That  the  said  Grand Trunk Western Railway Company be  and  it
<br /> 		is  hereby  required  to  protect  each  of  the  aforesaid  intersections  in the.
<br /> 		manner  and  during  the  hours  respectively  above described.  And  that  all
<br /> 		Ordinances,  parts  of  Ordinances  and Resolutions  heretofore  enacted  by
<br />      	-   said  Grand  Trunk Western Railway  Company  are  hereby  repealed;  and,

<br />      				WHEREAS,  The  Grand Trunk Western Railway  Company,  with  the  con-
<br />  		sent  of  the  said  City  and  in  lieu  of  other  forms  of protection  required
<br /> 		by  Ordinances  of  such  City,  is  protecting  the  intersection  of  its  right-
<br />  		of-way  with  the  following  named  public  streets  in the  city  of  South  Bend,
<br />  		in manner  and  form as  follows,  to-wit:
<br />      				At  Olive  Street  and  Sample  Street  with  flashlights  from 6:00
<br /> 		A.M.,  until  midnight  of  each  daytsjawet
<br />      				And  at  Carroll  Street,    ellow  Street,  Notre  Dame Avenue,
<br />  		Columbia  Street,  Lincoln Way  East  Sunnyside  Avenue  and Harriett  Street,
<br />  		with  flashlights  twenty-four  (24)  Hours  each  day;  and
<br />      				WHEREAS,  This  Council  is  of the  opinion  that  said=-flashlights,
<br />  		as  placed,  are squally  as  good for  the  protection  of  the public  as  any
<br />  		other  safeguard.
<br />      				NOW,    THEREFORE,  BE  IT  ORDAIN& D by  the  Common Council  of
<br />  		the  City  of  South Bend,  Indiana.
<br />  		SECTION BA
<br />      				That  said  flashlights  shall  be  used  and  operated by  said
<br />  		Grand Trunk Western Railway Company  at  said  intersections  and  during  said
<br />  		hours  respectively  set  out  in  lieu and  instead  of  other  protection  and
<br />  		that  all  Ordinances,  parts  of  Ordinances  and  Resolutions  heretofore
<br />  		enacted  by  said  City,  requiring  and  relating  to  the  protection  of  said
<br />  		intersections,  be  and  the  same  are  hereby  repealed;  and
