J <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 1774 ADOPTED <br /> APRIL 12, 1915. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South <br /> Bend, Indiana. <br /> SECTION 1. <br /> That Section Number Five (5) of Ordinance Number 1774, <br /> adopted April 12, 1915, be amended to read as follows, to-wit: <br /> "Fourth Ward. The Fourth Ward shall be bounded as follows, <br /> to-wit: <br /> Beginning at the intersection of the center of the St. <br /> Joseph River and East Jefferson Boulevard; thence running East along A <br /> the center of Jefferson Boulevard to the center of Greenlawn Avenue; <br /> thence running North along the center of Greenlawn Avenue to the <br /> Northerly limits of the said City of South Bend; thence West along <br /> the said Northerly limits of the said City of South Bend, to the inter- <br /> section of said Northerly limits with the center of the St. Joseph <br /> River; thence Southerly and Easterly along the center of said River <br /> to the place of beginning." <br /> • <br /> SECTION 2. • <br /> That an Eighth Ward be created within the limits of said <br /> City of South Bend, which said Eighth Ward shall be bounded by a line <br /> running as follows, to-wit: <br /> "Beginning at the intersection of the center line of Logan <br /> Street with the center of the St. Joseph River and running Westerly <br /> and Northerly along the center of said river to the intersection of <br /> the center line of East Jefferson Boulevard and the said center line <br /> of said river; thence East along the center line of said Jefferson <br /> Boulevard to the center line of Greenlawn Avenue; thence North along <br /> the center line of Greenlawn Avenue to the Northerly line of the said <br /> City of South Bend; thence East along the said Northerly line of said <br /> City to the center line of Logan Street; thence South along the center <br /> line of said Logan Street, to the place of beginning ." <br /> SECTION 3. <br /> That Section One of said Ordinance Number 1774 be amended <br /> to read as follows, to-wit: <br /> "That all the territory within the City of South Bend, <br /> Indiana, be divided into eight wards numbered- First, Second, Third, <br /> Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth, and the boundaries of all <br /> said wards, except said Fourth Ward and the said Eighth Ward hereby <br /> created, shall be and remain the same as in said Ordinance Number 1774 <br /> created." <br /> SECTION 4. <br /> That Section Nine of said Ordinance Number 1774 be amended <br /> to read as follows, to-wit: <br /> "That each of said Wards shall be represented in the <br /> Common Council of the said City of South Bend by one Councilman, who <br /> - 1 <br />
