D IP I <br /> AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FORTY-FIVE HUN 2ED DOLLP,RS <br /> FROM THE GENERAL FUND FOR SURVEY PRELIMINARY TO <br /> ERECTION OF SEWAGE DISPOSAL PLANT <br /> BE IT ORDATNE By the Common Council of the City of South <br /> Bend, Indiana, THAT WHEREAS it is deemed necessary to procure . <br /> lands, rights of way, materials and personal property for the <br /> • <br /> purpose of establishing and erecting a sewage disposal plant for <br /> said city; and . <br /> WHEREAS the demands of the public :health in and about said <br /> city require that a sewage disposal plant or some similar system <br /> of intercepting and disposing of sewage now entering the St. Jos- <br />: <br />, <br />, <br /> eph River be provided; and . • <br /> WHEREAS an emergency exists to get under way as aoon as prac- <br /> ticable general plans and estimates for the' erection or establish- <br /> went of such a system as provided by the Act of the General <br /> Assembly of Indiana, for the year 1927 (page 675) in order to re- <br /> move and eliminate noxious conditions affecting the health.and wel <br /> fare of the inhabitants of said city and surrounding territory: . <br /> THERE LS HEREBY appropriated, set aside and placed at the <br /> disposal of the Board of Public works of said city, out of the <br /> general fund of said pity,' not otherwise appropriated,_ the sum of ,,, <br /> Forty-five Hundred Dollars mwlserewith to employ he necessary en- <br />• <br /> gineers, surveyors; and assistance, aiparatas, blue-prints, aura; <br /> and material necessary to effect and earry. on :a thorough survey , <br /> report and investigation into the question of the feasibility, to cation, coat, means and general outline of a sewage-disposal <br /> plant, including the means and cost of lands , rights of way ,, <br /> 'materials and personal property needful to accomplish the erection <br /> of the same, which said sum shall be available and drawn upon in <br /> the discretion of said Board of Public Works. <br /> The consideration of said Ordinance and the appropriation there- <br /> in specified shall be heard by said Council on Monday evening, <br /> J broh 14, 1930, at 7: 30 o' clock pm. in the Council Chambers of <br /> the City Hall, in the City or South Send , Indiana , and the clerk <br /> is directed to publish notice in conformity with law that said <br />
