ORDINANCE NO. 01 b a <br /> AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF THREE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED <br /> DOLLARS ($3500.00) FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF ,THE CITY OF <br /> SOUTH BEND, INDIANA TO THE DEPARTI'MNT OF PUBLIC <br /> HEALTH FOR ITS EXPENSES IN PREVENTING AND <br /> TREATING SPINAL MENINGITIS. . <br /> WHEREAS, there has been an unusual prevalence of spinal <br /> meningitis during the last few weeks in South Bend, Indiana and <br /> neighboring communities, and <br /> WMBAS, the Department of Public Health of South Bend, Indiana <br /> has reported to this Council the necessity of making certain unusual <br /> expenditures in preventing and treating said disease; therefore, <br /> BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, <br /> Indiana: <br /> SECTION I. That the sum of Thirty-five Hundred Dollars ($3500.00) <br /> be and the same is hereby appropriated from the general fund of the <br /> City of South Bend., Indiana to the Department of Public Health for <br /> its use in preventing and treating spinal meningitis in South Bend, <br /> Indiana. <br /> SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect <br /> from and after its passage and legal publication and hearing and <br /> approval by the Mayor.
