ORDINANCE NO. 01 57-/ <br /> AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING PUBLIC PARKS IN THE CITY OF SOUTH <br /> BEND. INDIAU= <br /> WHEREAS the Board of Park Commiliioners of South Bend, Indiana, <br /> on the 27th day of January, 1930, filed with the Common Council a <br /> petition signed by all member* thereof requesting that the Common <br /> Council adopt an Aot of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana, <br /> entitled 'AN ACT CONCERNING THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC PARKS IN CITIES <br /> OF THE FIRST CLASS, DEFINING ITS POWERS AND DUTIES, CREATING A TAXING <br /> DISTRICT FOR PARK PURPOSES IN EACH CITY OF. THE FIRST CLASS, REPEALING <br /> CONFLICTING LAWS AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY,a approved March 14, 1919, <br /> as the same is found in Acts of the General Aseeably for the year 1919, <br /> at Page 639 thereof, together with all Acts amendatory and supplemental <br /> thereto, as a valid and effective Ordinanoe of this City Near the <br /> Government of the Department of Public Mks in the City and for the <br /> purpose of vesting the powers conferred by such Act and Acts amendatory <br /> and supplemental thereto, in the Department of Public Park's of this <br /> City; and t 4 <br /> WHEREAS the General Assembly of the State of Indiana has by Chapter <br /> 199 of the Acts of 1929 As the same is found at page 677 thereof, granted <br /> to the Common Council o$ this City, authority to adopt such Act and Acts <br /> amendatory and supplemental thereto as a valid and effective Ordinance <br /> for the purposes above enumerated; <br /> THEREFORE, for the government of the Department of Public Parks of <br /> this City, and for the purpose of vesting the powers conferred by such <br /> Acts above referred to upon the Department of PublicnParks of this City, <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY TUX COM ZN_ COUNCIL,_OF .THE QITT OF SOUTH BEND, <br /> INDIANA: <br /> Section 1.
