RESOLUTION NO. 1560-87 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, COMMENDING ROBERT G. TAYLOR FOR HIS <br /> SIXTEEN (16) YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE AS <br /> FIFTH DISTRICT COUNCILMAN <br /> WHEREAS, the Ccamon Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana recognizes <br /> that ROBERT G. TAYLOR has diligently and enthusiastically served the citizens <br /> of the Fifth District since 1972; and <br /> WHEREAS, during the sixteen (16) years COUNCILMAN TAYLOR has earned the <br /> reputation of being a hard-working district councilman who welcomes new <br /> challenges; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Cannon Council recognizes with pride sane of COUNCILMAN <br /> TAYLOR'S many contributions such as: being Chairman of the-Public Safety <br /> Carmittee for many years; serving as Vice-President of the Council; being past <br /> Chairman of the Hunan Resources and Economic Development Ccamittee; supporting <br /> the development of a revitalized downtown; supporting the building of the <br /> Century Center and the Stanley Coveleski Regional Stadium; working for a <br /> professionalized police merit program; resolving the Ireland landfill <br /> problems; working for the funding of a Community Oriented Policy Program; and <br /> improving the auto and pedestrian traffic facilities in the Miami Village <br /> Shopping District; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Common Council will remember COUNCILMAN TAYLOR constantly <br /> working to attain full city services for southeast suburbs and working to gain <br /> the needed zoning changes for attractive and valuable residential development <br /> in the Fifth District; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Cannon Council will long remember COUNCILMAN TAYLOR also <br /> known as "Mr. Republican" as a dedicated public servant who provided vision <br /> and fostered a bright future for our City. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Cannon Council of the City of South <br /> Bend, Indiana as follows: <br /> SECTION I . On behalf of all of the-citizens of South Bend, Indiana, the <br /> Gammon Council hereby publicly ccamends and thanks COUNCILMAN ROBERT G. TAYLOR <br /> for his Sixteen (16) years of dedicated service as a Fifth District <br /> Councilman. • <br /> SECTION II . The Cannon Council publicly acknowledges COUNCILMAN <br /> TAYLOR'S many contributions to help improve the quality of life in South ends <br /> Indiana, and wishes Bob and his wife, Una Fay, and their three (3) <br /> triplet grandchildren (currently learning to be a Democrat, a Republican and <br /> an Independent!) continued good fortune in the years ahead. <br /> SECTION III .
