Transferring $1,500.00 Hitherto Appropriated to Department of Public Health for Preventing & Treating Spinal Meningitis

ORDINANCE NO. WHEREAS, the Common Council has hitherto appropriated to the Department of Public Health of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the sum of Thirty -five Hundred Dollars (03500.00) to be used in the prevention and treatment of spinal meningitis; and WHEREAS, the epidemic of spinal meningitis is now abated to such an extent that all of said funds will not be needed for the specific purpose to which it was originally appropriated; TIEPEFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COPa1 ON COUNCIL OF THE CITY 07, SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: SECTION 1. That the sum of Fifteen Hundred Dollars ($1500.00) be and the same is hereby transferred from the use to which it was hitherto appropriated, that is from its use by the Board of Public Health in preventing and treating spinal meningitis, to the use there- of by the Board of Public Health in providing quarters hereafter for indigent cases of the following communicable diseases in the City of South Bend, Indiana, to -wit: Diphtheria, Scarlet Fever, Acute Epidemic Poliomyelitis, Epidemic Cebro Spinal Meningitis, Measles, and other diseases of a like nature as may be authorized by said Board of Health. from and SECTION 2.
