ORDINANCE NO. f6 Q <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION T'110 (2 1- OF ORDINANCE <br />NO. 1594 ADOPTED JUNE 125 1911, PROVIDING FOR THE <br />LICENSING OF TRANSIENT MFKRCHANTS, ;4HICH SECTION <br />IS ALSO SECTION 472 OF THE ORDINANCES OF THE CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND PUBLISHED IN VOLUME FORM AS ORDINANCE <br />NO. 1827 ADOPTED FEBRUARY 14, 1916. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: <br />Section 1 <br />That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 1594 adopted June <br />122 1911, and being Section 472 of the compiled ordinances <br />published in volume form adopted February 14, 1916, be amended <br />to read as follows: <br />Any person desiring to do, transact or <br />engage in business as transient merchant in said <br />City shall file his application for a license for <br />that pvrpose with the City Controller, which appli- <br />cation shall state his name, his proposed place of <br />business, the kind of business proposed to be con- <br />ducted, and the length of time for vhich he de- <br />sires to do business, and at the same time; deposit <br />a receipt from the County 'Treasurer, mating as City <br />Treasurer, which receipt shall show that the appli- <br />cant has paid to said treasurer the sum of Twenty - <br />five Dollars ($25.00) per day for the first ten <br />days, or any part thereof for which said applicant <br />desires to engage in the business of transient <br />merchant, and Ten Dollars ($10.00) per day for <br />each day after said ten days in which said appli- <br />cant desires to so engage.No license shall be <br />good for more than one person, unless such persons <br />shall be co- partners; nor for more than one place <br />and this ordinance shall apply to persons who go <br />from place to place to sell goods and who engage <br />local merchants to sell such goods on commission. <br />Section 2 <br />Violations of the terms of this ordinance shall be subject <br />to the same penalty of not less than Ten Dollars ($10.00), nor <br />-1- <br />
