ORDINANCE NO.2 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 6 OF ORDINANCE NO. <br />2948 REGULATING AND LICENSING <br />PEDDLERS, HAWKERS AND OPERATCP.S OF OPEN AIR <br />STANDS, AND REPEALING ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT <br />THEREWITH ADOPTED ON THE 12th DAY OF OCTOBER, <br />1931. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL :OF.THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: <br />Section 1 <br />That Section 6,of Ordinance No. 2948 adopted on the <br />12th day of October, 1931, be amended to read as follows: <br />Section 6 - That the provision of this <br />ordinance shall not apply to the sale of news- <br />papers, nor to the sale of farm produce, vege- <br />tables or fruits, when such farm produce, vege- <br />tables or fruits are raised, grown and produced <br />by,the person so selling same; provided, however, <br />that all persons,who desire to sell farm produce, <br />Vegetables or fruits of their own raising, shall <br />before peddling the same, apply to the City Con- <br />troller and male affidavit to the effect that <br />the farm produce, vegetables or fruits which he <br />desires to sell, is of his own raising, and if <br />such person fails or refuses to make such affi- <br />davit, then if he peddles, he shall be liable <br />to the penalties of this ordinance. <br />Nothing in this ordinance shall be con- <br />strued to require United States War Veterans, who <br />are authorized to peddle without a license in the <br />State of Indiana, to obtain a license from the <br />City of South Bend. <br />Section 2 <br />The penalty for the violation of this ordinance shall <br />be subject and according to Section 10 of said Ordinance No. 2948, <br />of which it is amendatory, to wit: A fine not exceeding Fifty <br />Dollars ($50.00) for each day's violation. <br />Section 3 <br />This ordinance shall be in full force and effect <br />and after its adoption. <br />, <br />e of the Comma CounC <br />`V'\ik� <br />
