Christmas Day Friday, December 25, 2009 <br />Officer's Birthday Floating <br />SECTION 11. That for all sworn police officers who are assigned to work their regular <br />work schedule, 6 days on and ) -3 days off, there shall be no paid holidays. The following dates are <br />designated as critical duty days: <br />New Years Day <br />Independence Day <br />Thanksgiving-Day <br />Christmas Eve <br />Christmas Day <br />New Years Eve <br />Thursday, January 1, 2009 <br />Saturday July 4, 2009 <br />Thursday, November 26, 2009 <br />Thursday, December 24, 2009 <br />Friday, December 25, 2009 <br />Thursday, December 31, 2009 <br />For purposes of the Critical Duty Day stipend, the Critical Duty Day shall start at 6:00 <br />a.m., and last 24 hours. <br />SECTION 111. Officers assigned to the South Bend Community School Corporation shall <br />follow the holiday schedule SET FORTH ABOVE. Officers so assigned shall be eligible for <br />Critical Duty pay only if assigned tot eh Uniform Division and otherwise eligible. <br />SECTION IV. Martin, Clerk <br />Mr. Chuck Leone, City Attorney, presented the Board with the 2009 Working Agreement modifying <br />certain provisions of the existing Agreement for the 2008 calendar year with the South Bend <br />Fraternal Order of Police, South Bend Lodge No. 36. He stated that the two Letters of <br />Understanding added to the agenda are related to the working agreement and address the revenue <br />restraints anticipated in 2009. Mr. Leone noted that negotiations went well and resulted in a good <br />working agreement for everyone. Upon a motion by Mr. Cottrell, seconded by Mr. Bon Durant and <br />carried, the 2009 Working Agreement was approved. <br />APPROVE LETTER OF UNDERSTANDING CONCERNING DEPARTMENT STRENGTH <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Cottrell, seconded by Mr. BonDurant and carried, the Letter of Understandin <br />Concerning Department Strength was approved. The Letter addresses the unprecedented financi <br />uncertainties of the future and the possibility of personnel cutbacks in the future years. I <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Cottrell, seconded by Mr. Bon Durant and carried, the Letter of Understanding <br />Concerning Article 20 of the 2009 Working Agreement was approved. The Letter addresses the <br />unprecedented financial uncertainties of the future and possible resulting modifications to the <br />insurance benefits. <br />
