Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana met in the Council Chambers of the County -City Building on Monday, May 12, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting was called to order by Council President Oliver Davis and the Invocation and Pledge to the Flag were given. ROLL CALL COUNCILMEMBERS: Present: Absent: Tim Scott 1 st District Henry Davis, Jr. 2n District Valerie Schey 3' District, Chairperson Committee of the Whole Dr. Fred Ferlic 4 District Dr. David Varner 5 District Oliver J. Davis 6' District, President Gavin Ferlic At -Large Karen L. White At- Large, Derek Dieter At- Large, Vice President OTHERS PRESENT: Kathleen Cekanski - Farrand Council Attorney John Voorde City Clerk Janice L Talboom Deputy Kareemah Fowler Chief Deputy REPORT FROM THE SUB- COMMITTEE ON MINUTES Councilmember White made a motion that the minutes of the April 28, 2014, meeting of the Council be accepted and placed on file. Councilmember Scott seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of eight (8) ayes. Council President Oliver Davis on our May meeting we will not be meeting on Memorial Day but on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 7pm. SPECIAL BUSINESS BILL NO. 14 -54 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, PUBLICLY COMMENDING AND HONORING TRANSPO OPERATOR CHERYL MOORE FOR HER ACTS OF HEROISM IN RESCUING A YOUNG CHILD Council President presented resolution commending Cheryl Moore for her acts of heroism. We would like to say thank you. Chris Kuzovak- On behalf of Transpo, we are amazed to have an employee such as Cheryl and look forward to years of her service. Thank you. Cheryl Moore- I would like to say thank you, if I had to do it all over again, I would be more than happy to help a child in need. Thank you so much. Councilmember Scott - Thank you so much for everything that you do.
