} <br />1� <br />M ORDINANCE NO. _J017 <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REGULATION AND <br />PROHIBI I N OF C NT S S OF HU2;+�N ENI�URANCE. <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana: <br />SECTION 1. That no public contests of human endurance for <br />monger period than six (6) hours shall be held within the <br />city of South Bend, Indiana, unless a permit is obtained <br />therefor from the Department of Public Health of said city. <br />firm on nor o or conductin = <br />SECTION 2. Any person o ng aeon of human endurance <br />whicT shall extend beyond the period of one day or engaging <br />in such contest shall first procure a license at the office <br />of the Controller of th C' o S�o�uth Bend, which license <br />shall be at the rate of `t h- o7.lars (U5.00) per day for <br />each day during the duration of the contest. <br />SECTION 3. Any person violating this ordinance shall be <br />ink nom exceeding Fifty Dollars ($50.00), to which may be <br />added imprisonment in the County jail not exceeding ten <br />days for each offence, and each additional day shall be <br />considered an additional v tion. <br />SECTION 4. If anv t ction of this ordinance shall <br />of r any raason be inval d, t shall not invalidate any other <br />part thereof. <br />SECTION 5.
