RESOLUTION NO. S- / <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />RECOMMENDING THAT GOVERNOR BAYH REAPPOINT DR. CAROL A. ECKER TO THE <br />BOARD OF TRUSTEES AT PURDUE UNIVERSITY <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, notes with extreme <br />pride that Carol A. Ecker, DVM, is completing her first term on the Board of Trustees at Purdue <br />University; and <br />WHEREAS, during the past three (3) years on the Board of Trustees, Dr. Ecker has <br />diligently invested her time especially on behalf of the "at risk" students, and the students <br />who have a "C" average; she has promoted better communication between faculty and students; <br />and has taken positive steps on behalf of Purdue University projects; and <br />WHEREAS, Dr. Ecker is a "team player" who provides keen insights and thoughful <br />suggestions to enhance the quality of excellence at Purdue University; and <br />WHEREAS, as a member of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Ecker has worked hard on the <br />Finance Committee, Regional Campus Committee, Construcition Committee, Farm Inspection <br />Committee, as well as being a Purdue Council Fellow, Presidents Council Member, and Dean's <br />Club Member in promoting Purdue University. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows: <br />SECTION I. On behalf of all of the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the <br />Common Council recommends that Governor Bayh reappoint Dr. Carol Ecker to the Board of <br />Trustees at Purdue University. <br />SECTION II. The Common Council sincerely believes that Dr. Ecker provides a strong <br />voice for Northern Indiana residents, and that she has the leadership and vision to further <br />enhance the quality of excellence at Purdue University. <br />SECTION I1I.
