RESOLUTION NO / 1�' 7 y - 9 A RESOLUTION COMMENDING LOL SOUTH INDIANA, ITTA ANASTASIO, PRESIDENT OFADA INC. WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, acknowledges with Pride that Lolita Anastasio, President of ADIVA, Inc. has recently been honored by several organizations for "her ability to provide nontraditional work for women'; and WHEREAS, Lolita Anastasio has proven that women are "very capable of performing excellent work at any level; and WHEREAS, acknowledging that "women are the largest untapped natural resource of the United States ", Lolita Anastasio is making an important impact in the world of business through her concrete / construction company; and WHEREAS, Lolita Anastasio and ADIVA, Inc. have been honored for their "business leadership and civic commitment in the community" by the South Bend / Mishawaka Area Chamber of Commerce; received the Appreciation Award from Hispanics in Politics; and recently received the "Ain't I A Woman" Award from the St. Joe Valley Now Chapter; and WHEREAS, some of Lolita Anastasio's memberships include: the Business Development Corporation, the Minority Business Development Council, United Way, Urban League, Greater Indianapolis Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the South Bend Chamber of Commerce, the Lincoln Way West Business Association, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, Minority Business Enterprise, Women's Business Enterprise, and the Department of Transportation in Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows: SECTION I. On behalf of all of the residents of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the Common Council publicly commends Lolita Anastasio, President of ADIVA, Inc., for her many contributions to our community through her many talents and business endeavors. SECTION 11. The Common Council believes that Lolita Anastasio is an enthusiastic and positive example of a person who dedicates herself to providing countless opportunities for others. SECTION. III. The Council wishes Lolita Anastasio continual success, as she blazes new paths for career opportunities, and dreams which can become realities through dedication and hard work. SECTION IV.
