PERSONNEL & FINANCE JULY 13, 2015 4:10 P.M. <br />Committee Members Present: Karen White, Valerie Schey, Derek Dieter, Dr. Fred Ferlic <br />Citizen Members: Valerie Mora -Kraus <br />Other Council: Tim Scott, Henry Davis (XAB), Dr. David Varner, <br />Oliver Davis (AB), Gavin Ferlic <br />Others Present: John Murphy, Kathy Cekanski - Farrand, John Voorde <br />Agenda: Bill No. 15 -63 Approval of Scrap Metal Licenses <br />Quarterly Financial Update from Administration & Finance <br />The Personnel and Finance Committee was called to order by the Chair Karen White who noted all <br />committee members were present to discuss the two items on the agenda. <br />The first item bill 15 -63 requested Council approval for the issuance of six licenses. According to the <br />Ordinance Violation Bureau's protocols these applications met all approvals of the City departments <br />inspecting these operations. City Clerk John Voorde made the brief presentation. There were no <br />questions. <br />Derek Dieter moved to forward favorably. Dr. Ferlic seconded and all approved. <br />City Controller John Murphy presented the next item, the quarterly update of City finances. Mr. Murphy <br />provided the Council a progress report (attached). <br />Valerie Schey questioned the costs associated with the vacant and abandoned housing program. She <br />requested an accounting of the source, amount, and total costs of the South Bend Heritage's housing <br />rehab program. <br />Kathy Cekanski- Farrand, the Council Attorney, made a short presentation of forms she developed <br />intended to be filed with bills submitted by the Administration or Council.
