COMMUNITY & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE <br />The November 24, 2008 meeting of the Community and Economic Development Committee of <br />the South Bend Common Council was called to order by its Chairperson, Derek D. Dieter at 3:50 <br />p.m. in the Council's Informal Meeting Room. <br />Committee Members present, Ann Puzzello, Member, Karen L. White, Member, Henry Davis, Jr., <br />Vice-President; M. Catherine Andres, Citizen Member; Mark Smith, Citizen Member <br />Other's Present: Councilmember's Tom LaFountain, Oliver Davis, Timothy Rouse; Mayor <br />Stephen Luecke, Robert Matia, Rita Kopala, Martha Lewis, WNDU, WSBT, Jeff Parrot, Kathleen <br />Cekanski-Farrand, Council Attorney, John Voorde, City Clerk <br />AGENDA: BILL N0.08-106 <br />This resolution is a petition for 3 years of real property tax abatement for Gateway Plaza at 3305 <br />Lathrop Drive. <br />At Chairperson, Dieter's request Bob Mathia of Community & Economic Development gave a <br />project summary (detail attached) the project met all requirements fora 3 year real property <br />abatement. <br />After brief discussion M. Catherine Andres motioned for favorable recommendation to Council. <br />Councilmember White seconded the motion and all affirmed to send to Council favorably. <br />There being no further business to come before the committee, Chairperson Dieter, adjourned <br />the meeting at 3:58 p.m. <br />Respectfully Submitted, <br />~~ ~ <br />Derek .Dieter, Chairperson <br />Community & Economic Development Committee <br />
