ORDINANCE NO. 3 % / 2-- <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE REGISTRATION AND IDENTIFICATION <br />OF BICYCLES, THE TRANSFERRING OF OWNERSBIP OF BICYCLES, <br />THE SELLING AND REPAINTING OF BICYCLES AND PARTS <br />THEREOF, PROHIBITING MUTILATING OR REMOVING <br />OF REGISTRATION NUMBERS THEREOF, PRE- <br />SCRIBING PENALTY FOR THE VIOLA - <br />TION THEREOF, AND REPEALING <br />ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT <br />THF.'REWITH. <br />Be it ordained by the Common Council of the city of South <br />Bend, Indiana: <br />Sectionll. <br />Every person who shall own any bicycle in the city <br />of South Bend, Indiana shall register such bici— le and ob- <br />tain and carry on such bicycle an identification tag as <br />herein provided. <br />Section II. <br />Said owner shall apply to the Clerk of the Board of <br />Public Safety of the city of South Bend, Indiana for regis- <br />tration of said bicycle, and shall register such bicycle on <br />a form to be furnished by the Board of Public Safety of said <br />city, which form shall provide a full description of the bi- <br />cycle, the former owner's name, the manufacturer's number, or <br />a substituted number to be stamped on such bicycle by the <br />police department of the city of South Bend. <br />Section III. <br />Any such bicycle, which has no manufacturer's number <br />or on which the manufacturer's number has been mutilated, <br />shall be given a number, said number shall be die stamped <br />on any such bicycle by the registering official. <br />Section IV. <br />Upon registration of any bicycle, the owner thereof <br />shall be furnished a die stamped tag, numbered to correspond <br />with the registration certificate of the bicycle.
