That the action of the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana under date of April ist, 1935 in entering into a certain contract, a copy of which is as follows, to -wit: SALE CONTRACT ELGIN SWEEPER COMPANY Build6rs of Motor Driven Machinery for Cleaning Streets and. Catch Basins ELGIN, ILLINOIS,U.S.A. Date. March 2921935 ATE ELGIN SWEEPER COMPANY OF ELGIN, ILLINOIS hereby proposes to furnish, F.O.B., South Bend, Indiana, for the City of South Bend, Indiana, the following described machine, ready for use, accord -. ing to specifications herewith for the sum of Six Thousand Six Hundred Ninety Dollars ($6,690.00). One(1) 1935 Model ELGIN Motor Pick -up Sweeper complete dith RIGHT and LEFT side gutter cleaning attachments - non - clogging open bottom elevator - complete lighting equipment - electric starter - heavy duty pneumatic truck tires with puncture proof tubes - machine havingg the speed and of a size for present day traffic cond3 offs and built for turning completely in a 28 Street - machine to dump from the front comp e e _ray y 0r046- atIon including one extra rotary broom and two extra sets of gutter broom segments filled and broom making machine. DELIVERY - Shipment can be made immediately. LETTERING - Per your instructions. INSTRUCTOR - Instructor furnished without extra charge The CITY OF South Bend, Indiana, through its officials agrees to receive said machine on arrival and remit to the Elgin Sweeper Company the above named purchase price as per following terms. $1,672.50 cash 30 days after delivery, balance within 90 days after delivery without interest. (or) $1,672.90,cash 30 days after delivery and $5,017.50 January 1936, deferred payment to bear interest @ 6% er annum. (or) 1,672.50 cash 30 days.after delivery, 10672.50 one year, $1,672.50 two years, $1,672.50 three years, deferred payments to bear inter- est @ 6% per annum. GUARANTEE The Elgin Sweeper Company agrees to test the above machine before shipment and to see that all parts are in harmonious work- ing order and proper condition to perform their respective duties.
