SISTER CITY AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN SOUTH BEND AND CZESTOCHOWA <br />( <br />With the aim of establishing ties of friendship and cooperation <br />between South Bend and Czestochowa which will strengthen traditiona <br />links between American and Polish nations, we hereby formalize a de <br />iled Sister City Agreement between our cities under the rules and <br />regulations of Sister Cities International. <br />With that agreement, both cities undertake to inform each other . <br />about their activities and to support the further development of <br />understanding, trust and friendship between their citizens as the <br />indispensable conditions of peace and welfare of both cities and <br />nations. <br />With the signing of this agreement South Bend and Czestochowa <br />untertake to cooperate and exchange in the mutually beneficial deve <br />lopment of both cities especially in the following areas: <br />- local self - governments through exchange of information concerning <br />the activities of both self - government and municipalities of <br />both cities as well as through support of management processes <br />by mutual experiences and ideas, <br />- economy - supporting initiatives aiming at establishing business <br />contacts between enterprizes from both cities as well as organi- <br />zing joint seminars and discussions, <br />- science and technology - through exchange information and joint <br />research programs run by the scientific institutions of both citi <br />- education - through work on joint projects of cooperation betwee <br />students from both cities, <br />- culture - through mutual exchange of information and organizing <br />exhibitions, concertslperformings and other cultural events, <br />
