OFDIIIAIICE 7 3231 <br />AN ORDINA7.CE REGULATING THE OIDEPATTON OT TAXICABS AIeIT ITDING <br />CERTAIN SECTIONS OF 07-DINANCE ;1/2979. <br />BE IT ORDAIIIED by the Common Council of the City of South. Bend, <br />Indiana: <br />Section I. That Section XIII of Ordinance #2979, passed by the <br />Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, On March 28, <br />1932, be amended to read as follows: PATES OF FAzE: No person, <br />firm or corporation owning, operating or controlling any motor <br />vehicle used as a taxicab within the limits of the City of <br />South Bend shall charge less than the following rates to be <br />determined by the following boundary: Olive Street on the West, <br />,'latch Factory on the East, Fairview Avenue on the South, City <br />Limits on the North - thirty cents (30V), nor morethan the rate <br />of thirty cents (30I) for any part of the area above set forth., <br />.and that passengers going beyond the limits set forth in the <br />boundary above described shall pay not more than the sum of <br />twenty cents (20�) for each additional mile traveled by the <br />customer of said cab and provided further that a taxicab may be <br />hired at a rate of X2.00 per hour when so hired before the trip <br />is begun and provided further that for each three minutes of <br />waiting there may be made a charge of ten cents (10�). Waiting <br />time shall include the time when the taxicab is not in motion <br />beginning with the arrival at the place toviich it has been called, <br />_ o <br />or the time consumed while standing at the direction of the passenger, <br />but no charge shall be made for time lost for the inefficiency of <br />the taxicab or its operator or time consumed by premature res,�onse <br />to ca]1. The above charges will be for one person or morn_ tan <br />taxicab 'shall be let or hired upon a meter basis when the taximeter <br />thereon is broken, out of order, or for any other reason does not <br />accurately register the fare. <br />Section II.
