ORDINANCE N0. 32 c�3 J WHEREAS, the City, through its Board of Public Works and Safety, is confronted With the necessity of repairing and improvingeertain fire stations in the city of South Bend, Indiana, which are in a bad state of disrepair, and WHEREAS if said ,repair work is not done during the current year, there will be further deterioriation of said fire stations, and WHEREAS, an emergency now exists requiring the repair of said fire stations, and WHEREAS, the City Treasurer, because of a recent decision of the Supreme Court of Indiana, in the case of Read at al vs* Bedzkiewiez, is confronted with the necessity of sending out _numerous notices to Barrett- Law bondholders, and WEEREASa he has no appropriation for postage, and WHEREAS, the divil city in its 1939 budget failed to appropriate sufficient funds for the pay*ent of one member of the Board of Health, and sufficient funds to-pay all of the salary of the Health Officer, as provided - - for by law in the State of Indiana, and WHEREAS, an emergency eaists.ia all of said matter;, NOW, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the city of South Bend, Indiana: Section 1. That the sum of $2200.00 be appropriated from the General Fund of the City of South Bend, to the Board of.Publie Works fund known as Board of Public Works Repair of Fire Stations Account, and also known as Budgetary Item H 14, Section 2. That the sum of $440.00 be appropriated from the_ General Fund of the city of South Bend,.to the City Treasurer's Postage account which is designated as Budgetary Item # D 5. Section 3.
