<br />of the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
<br />PASSED / VAA( /concerning a certain contract entered into between the Board of Park
<br />Commissioners of the City of South Bend, Indiana, and Alex Langel,
<br />Trustee of Portage Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana, concerning the
<br />payment of funds by Portage Township to the Board of Park Commissioners
<br />of the Municipal City of South Bend for Works Progress Administration
<br />projects.
<br />WITNESSETH
<br />TFL'_T VEEMEAS, certain projects being carried out by the Works
<br />Progress Administration are now being sponsored by the Board of Park
<br />Commissioners of the City of South Bend, and certain other projects
<br />are under consideration and nay be sponsored by said City, and
<br />r+ EEREAS, the Board of Park Commissioners of the City does
<br />not have funds out of which to purchase materials and equipment for
<br />the carrying out of said projects, and
<br />WHEMAS, Portage Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana, through
<br />its Trustee, Alex Langel, for the purpose of removing people from the
<br />relief rolls of said Township, has agreed in a contract entered into
<br />between said Alex Langel, as Trustee, for Portage Township, St. Joseph
<br />County, Indiana, and the Board of Park Commissioners of the City of
<br />South Bend, to pay to the City of South Bend, the sum of $6.75 per man
<br />Der month for each man taken from the relief rolls of said Portage Township,
<br />and employed by the Works Progress Administration on projects sponsored by
<br />the fr_unicipal City of South Bend, and
<br />WH=- M , said Board of Park Commissioners of said City has agreed
<br />in said contract to use said money so derived from Portage Township for
<br />the purpose of furnishing materials and equipment for the carrying out of
<br />said Works Progress Administration projects
<br />NOW, THEP.EFORE, BE IT vz$EP that said contract entered into
<br />between Alex Langel, Trustee of Portage Township, St.Joseph County, Indiana,
<br />and the Board of Park Commissioners of the Mu*icipal City of South Bend,
<br />Indiana, which contract is dated December J1 —, 1939, and a copy of whidh
<br />is attached hereto, be and the same is hereby in all things confirmed and
<br />ratifieI by the Common Council of the Municipal City of South Bend, Indiana,
