LI) <br />ORDINANCE NO. 33,2 Q <br />AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING CERTAIN FUNDS <br />FROM THE GENERAL FUND OF THE CIVIL CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, TO THE FIRE DE- <br />PARTMENT REPAIR OF'EQUIPMENT FUND FOR <br />EMERGENCY PURPOSES. <br />WHEREAS, the appropriation for the repair of <br />equipment in the Fire Department, has been almost depleted <br />because of the necessity of using a large amount of money <br />from this fund for the rebuilding of ladder truck No. 2 on <br />a new chassis, after the destruction of the old chassis <br />through an automobile collision in December, 1939, and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary tosepair and rebuild <br />several pieces of equipment in the Fire Department which are <br />now in a bad state of repair, and <br />WHEREAS, the City obtained the sum of $900.00 in a <br />settlement for the property damage caused to truck No. 2 as <br />a result of said automobile colli -sion in December, 1939, and <br />WHEREAS, said 0900.00 was paid into t he General <br />Fund of the City of South Bend, and has not been expended for <br />other purposes, and <br />WHEREAS, an emergency exists in the necessity to <br />repair certain equipment of the Fire Department, <br />NOW, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the <br />City of South Bend, Indiana; <br />Section 1. That t he sum of 0900.00 be appropriated <br />from t he General Fund of t he City of South Bend, to t he Fire <br />Department repair of equipment fund which is designated as <br />Budgetary Item No, Q 7. <br />Isl & 2nd READING, ��� �", /' Section 2.
