ORDINANCE NO..j—v <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $812.00 FROM <br />TIM GENLiIIAL HIND OF THE. CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />TO THE HEALTH DEPARTA/TENT ACCOUNT FOR PERSONAL, SERVICES <br />AND NURSE HIRE AND DECLARING AN E1r.RGENCY <br />WHEREAS, during the past several weeks there has existed in the <br />City of South Bend, an epidemic of infantile paralysis, and <br />WHEREAS, as the result of said epidemic it has been necessary to <br />procure the services of nurses and other personal services, through the <br />Health Department, for the purpose of coping with and prohibiting the spread <br />Of said epidemic, and <br />WHEREAS, there has been insufficient appropriation of funds for <br />the purpose of paying for said services, and an extraordinary emergency <br />exists requiring the appropriation of sufficient funds for that purpose, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the <br />city of South Bend, <br />Section 1. That the sum of .'x''812.00 be appropriated from the <br />General Fund of the city of South Bend, to the realth Department Personal <br />Services account, which is also known as Budgetary Account No. T -9 in the <br />Health Department for the purpose of paying for personal services of nurses <br />and other persons whom -it_ has been necessary to employ in connection with the <br />infantile paralysis'ep`idemic which has existed in the city of South Bend. <br />Section.2.
