ORDINANCE'' "NO: 3 36 � 30�.a p g' i3 AN ORDINANCE "AMXING - CERTAIN" "CONTIGUOUS TERRITORY" TO THK CITY CV SOUTH' BEND' INDIANA. Whereas) the construction of certain plants is at present being undertaken at a point just outside the exist - ing city limits of the City of South Bendy Indiana; and, Whersas., the adequate protection of the value of property within the existing city limits of the city of South Bend and the adequate protection of the health and safety of the inhabitants of said city requires the exten- sion of its powers > granted by the statutes of Indiana and exercised under its. - ordinances to include the area of con - struction and a reasonable area surrounding same; Noss therefore, be it ordained by the Common Council ofCthe °city of South-Bend, Indiana; Section 1. That the following described terri- tory be, and the same is hereby annexed'to and declared to be a part of said city, to -wits Beginning at a point on the east line and two hundred °(200) feet south of the:north lins'of Section Twenty-Six-7 Township Thirty Seven North, 'Range TWO Easti which point is on the present City limits of the City of SouthBehd,• then- west parallel with and two hundred (200) feet south of the north line to the north and south center line•of -said Section Twenty -six; thence north along the north and south center line of said Section Twenty- six,aud the north and south center line -of Section•Twenty- threei Township Thirty -seven North? Range Two East, to the,, point -of 'intersection with the present city limits of the <city'of Oouth Bend., which point is one thousand seven' hundred nine and five tenths (1709.5) feet south>of the center line of Ewing Avenue; thence in a general- easterly - and southerly direction along the present city-limits to the place of beginning. section U. That an- emergency requiring the immediate- passage of this ordinance- exists.
