81Jr,K <br />ORDINANCE NO. t -3 3 iC <br />AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN CONTIGUOUS <br />TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />Mq <br />WHEREAS, the construction of certain dwelling units <br />is at present being undertaken at points both within and with- <br />out the existing city limits of the city of South Bend, Indiana; <br />and, <br />11MEREAS, as a result of such construotion large numbers <br />of men, women and children will move into the said areas; and, <br />'WHEREAS, the adequate protection of the value of <br />property within the existing city limits of the city of South <br />Bend and the adequate protection of the health and safety <br />of the inhabitants of said city requires the extension of its <br />city limits; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council <br />of the city of South Bend, Indiana: <br />Section 1. That the following described territory <br />be, and the same is hereby annexed to and declared to be a part <br />of said city, to -wit: <br />Beginning at a point one thousand one hundred two <br />and seventy four hundredths (1102.74) feet south of the <br />east and west -center line afid one thousand one hundred <br />sixty five (11:165) feet west of the east line of section <br />24, Township 37 North, Range 2 East, which point is on <br />the east line of High Street produced south and on the <br />present City Limits of the City of South Bend; thence <br />south parallel with and one thousand one hundred sixty <br />five (1165) feet west of the east line of said Section 24 <br />and the east line of Section 25, Township 37 North, Range <br />2 East, to the south line of the north half bf the north: <br />half of the northeast quarter of"said Section 25, which <br />point is on the present City limits of the City of <br />South Bend; thence west along the present City limits to <br />a point forty -six (46) rods east of the north and south <br />center line of said Section 25; thence north along the <br />present City limits parallel to and forty -six rods east <br />of the north and south center lines of said Sections, 25 <br />and 24 to a point one thousand one hundred two and seventy <br />four hundredths (1102,74) feet south of the east and west <br />center line of said Section 24 thence east along the <br />present City limits paralle37with and one thousand one <br />hundred two and seventy fo hundredths (1102.74) feet <br />south of the east and west center line of said Section 24 <br />to the place of beginning. <br />24- <br />
