PERSONNEL & FINANCE MAY 11, 2015 5:00 P.M. <br />Committee Members Present: Karen White, Valerie Schey, Derek Dieter, Dr. Fred Ferlic <br />Citizen Members Present: Valerie Mora -Kraus (AB) <br />Other Council Present: Tim Scott, Henry Davis, Dr. David Varner, Oliver Davis (XAB), <br />Gavin Ferlic <br />Others Present: George King <br />Agenda: MBE /WBE Quarterly and Annual Report Update <br />Karen White, Chair of the Personnel & Finance Committee opened the meeting with full membership <br />present. The one item on the agenda was the presentation of the Diversity Purchasing and <br />Development Participation Report for 2014. George King, the City Director of Purchasing, provided a <br />handout (attached) of the overhead presentation. <br />However prior to the start of the presentation, Karen took a moment to thank Valerie Schey for her <br />service as the Council representative to the Diversity Utilization Board (DUB) in 2014. <br />George then proceeded with the presentation. <br />Henry Davis said one of the obstacles preventing small businesses and contractors getting work from the <br />city results from the practice "bundling."
