<br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
<br />BEND, INDIANA, DECLARING THE WEEK OF MAY 9, 1994, AS
<br />PUBLIC SERVICE RECOGNITION W K.
<br />Obtreas, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana recognizes
<br />that throughout our country there will be celebrations and ceremonies honoring government
<br />workers during "Public Service Recognition Week"; and
<br />'D bereas, events are planned by Federal, State, local agencies around our
<br />country, for these workers who are the backbone of our governments; and
<br />Vbtreas, governmental workers include astronauts, custodians, accountants,
<br />secretaries, park rangers, police officers, firefighters, attorneys, military members, park
<br />department workers, street department workers, utility workers, elected officials, and
<br />countless other dedicated individuals; and
<br />'i btttas, governmental workers at all levels of government have accepted the
<br />challenge to provide the best and highest quality of services to their communities by
<br />creating a governmental system which "work better and cost less "; and
<br />V bltreas, the Common Council believes it is a fitting and proper message to
<br />continue to set a clear vision for not only our Country's future, but also our County's and
<br />City's future, as we continue to address our communities problems and improve the quality
<br />of life.

<br />&UUOn I. The Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, hereby
<br />declares the week of May 9, 1994 as "Public Service Recognition Week" in South
<br />Bend, Indiana.
<br />Oettion II. The Common Council recognizes the many, many unsung heros who
<br />work on a day by day basis at all levels of government for the betterment of our
<br />community, and our Country.
<br />�5ettion III. The Common Council challenges all citizens of the City of South
<br />Bend to participate in this week of recognition, and ask all governmental workers to
<br />continue to set an example for our residents to emulate.
<br />ktCtiOn IV. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its
<br />adoption by the Common Council and approval by the M�yr
