CONTRACT, PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS <br />FOR LIGHTING THE STREETS, ALLEYS <br />AND PUBLIC PLACES IN THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this 17th day <br />of July, 1944, between the City of South Bend, a municipal <br />corporation of the State of Indiana, by and through its Board <br />of Public Works, party of the first part, hereinafter referred <br />to as the "City", and Indiana & Michigan Electric_Company., an Indiana <br />corporation, <br />/party of the second part, hereinafter referred to as the <br />"Contractor ", pursuant to a resolution of the Board of Public <br />Works passed at a meeting held on the 10th day of July, 1944. <br />W I T N E S S E T H <br />That the parties hereto each in consideration of the <br />agreements on the part of the other herein contained, have <br />mutually agreed and hereby mutually agree as follows: <br />1. The Contractor shall provide, maintain and operate:: <br />(a) A street lighting system in the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana consisting of not less than One Thousand Two Hundred and <br />Eighty -eight (1288) street lamps supplied from the OVERHEAD <br />DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM of the Contractor. Such overhead lamps shall <br />be as follows: <br />14 - 10000 lumen incandescent lamps <br />90 - 6000 lumen incandescent lamps <br />775 - 4000 lumen incandescent lamps <br />101 - .2500 lumen incandescent lamps <br />308 - 1000 lumen incandescent lamps <br />(b) A street lighting system in the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana, consisting of not less than One Thousand Seven <br />Hundred Nineteen (1719) street lamps supplied from the <br />UNDERGROUND DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM of the Contractor. Such under- <br />ground lamps shall be as follows: <br />
