ORDINANCE .7+Z,1 G4-i 0"� <br />AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE ACCEPTANCE <br />OF FOOD PRODUCT TIN CANS AT PUBLIC DUMPS, <br />AND PROHIBITING THE HAULING THEREOF FOR <br />DUMPTING PURPOSES; PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES <br />FOR VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the United States of America is now at war, <br />and <br />WHEREAS, tin is a very vital war material, and <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary for the immediate preservation <br />of all Food Product Tin Cans for conversion into vital war materials; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council <br />of the City of South Bend thaaat: / <br />ro r al + tw f O dt � ` �l /�r ej et, �o Mf/It' S �� <br />SECTION 1 /,It all be unlawful for any person in <br />charge of, or worming upon or about any public trash and /or dump <br />place knowingly to allow or permit the dumping of Food Product Tin <br />cans (except condensed milk cans) on such trash or dump place. / f �° <br />,Per 7; u' N 0 /A-�r C rer_� Yrol /' f -� twrp-f�4 // t_ <br />SECTION 2.- It hall b e unlaw 1 for any person <br />knowingly to haute o�Frdauct Tin Cans (except condensed milk cans) <br />over the streets of South Bend to any trash or dump place, whether <br />public or private. <br />SECTION 3 - Any person violating any of the provisions <br />of this Ordinance smell be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon <br />conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not less than Five <br />Dollars (05.00) nor more than Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00), or by <br />Imprisonment for not more than one hundred eighty days (180), or by <br />both such fine and imprisonment. <br />SECTION 4 - It is hereby declared that there is urgent <br />necessity and an emergency exists for the immediate operation of this <br />ordinance; #mere, the same shall t ake effect <br />Yie a 2 ijj6ih 611 ro'z <br />Op NTTEE Of T§j WWJ <br />at W NK <br />as <br />JMW <br />WAMP <br />G ��� <br />er <br />4,1'�f'Gf ) e 0.).
