Bill No. QS_ - /Z/ 9s <br />Resolution No. o(�S <br />A Resolution of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, Commending <br />and Congratulating <br />LINAS "LEE" SLAVINSKAS <br />for his Eight (8) Years of Dedicated and Conscientious Service as the Fifth District Council <br />Wbgrggg, the Common Council acknowledges that 5th District Council Member <br />Linas "Lee" Slavinskas personally decided not to run for a third consecutive Council term, <br />and as a result will complete eight (8) years of dedicated service to the City of South Bend <br />and more specifically the residents of the Fifth District on December 31, 1995; and <br />Wbtrt89, the Common Council proudly notes with pride that "Lee" Slavinskas <br />brought a special perspective to each issue which came before the Council, and effectively <br />utilized his position as a minority party Council Member and as the sole Republican <br />Council Member these past four years, so that learned and meaningful public discussions <br />always took place so that better public decisions would be made; and <br />'IlD 1)VU40, the Common Council also notes that Linas "Lee" Slavinskas has a <br />unique ability to remind the Council to strive for "LESS jokes MORE humor" and the <br />Council will truly miss his countless stories about animals, vegetables and minerals!! <br />IWO, 9btrt£ort, be it rtsolLtb by the COMMoa countil of the City of 04utb *tub, <br />lubtatu, as follows: <br />Ottti0tt I. On behalf of all of the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, <br />the Common Council hereby publicly commends and congratulates LINAS "LEE" <br />SLAVINSKAS for his eight (8) years of dedicated public service as the Fifth District <br />Council Member of our fine City. <br />fWtiOtt II. During his public service career, LINAS "LEE" SLAVINSKAS <br />provided sincere leadership and challenged many public officials as he very efficiently <br />chaired the Zoning and Vacation Committee, served on the Area Plan Commission, set a <br />record for consecutive terms as President of the Finance Committee of the City of South <br />Bend, showed vision and determination in each of his planning and zoning decisions, and <br />took a tough stand and fought hard for meaningful and enforceable zoning regulations to <br />better control adult business in our City. <br />Ottti0tt M. The Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, sincerely <br />thanks LINAS "LEE" SLAVINSKAS for his eight (8) years of truly dedicated public <br />service and hopes that he and his wife, Diane, will stay active in our community, and <br />hopefully have additional time to spend with their children Chad, Liane, Marcus and <br />Scotty. <br />090i0lt IV.
