Bill No. 95 -108 <br />Resolution No. a3 //— 25 <br />A Resolution <br />of the Common Council <br />of the <br />City of South Bend, Indiana, <br />Commending <br />Winning the Class <br />and Congratulating the <br />3 -A State Football <br />South <br />Chamoionshin <br />Bend St. Joseph's Indians on <br />in the State of Indiana. <br />"bvlytreag, the Common Council proudly acknowledges that on Saturday, <br />November 25, 1995, the South Bend St. Joseph's Indians won the Class 3 -A State <br />Football Championship by hammering Jasper by a score of 28 -0; and <br />VbertSg, the Common Council notes that the St. Joseph's Indians had a perfect <br />14 -0 season this year and with their win over Jasper, ended Jasper's winning streak at 13 <br />games; and <br />V btrtag, under the leadership of Coach Frank Amato and his dedicated staff of <br />Assistant Coaches, the St. Joseph's Indians showed how hard -work, dedication, and <br />discipline both on and off the playing field result in positive results; and <br />Vbtrt&g, in winning the Class 3 -A State Title, the Indians played like <br />champions as they rolled up 295 yards of rushing versus Jaspers meager 128 yards, with <br />the Indians earning 17 first downs versus Jasper's 13. <br />110b1, Zbertfort, lit it rtgoTLtb bg the Common countil of the City of <br />95,oUtb V40, Migtu, as follows: <br />Ott don I. On behalf of all of the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, <br />the Common Council hereby publicly commends and congratulates the South Bend St. <br />Joseph's Indians on Winning the Class 3 -A State Football Championship in the State of <br />Indiana. <br />Ottti= II. The South Bend Common Council proudly notes that the Indians <br />now have captured the three (3) state titles, having won the Volleyball Title in 1973 and the <br />Girls Volleyball Title in 1975, with the 1995 Football Championship in Class 3 -A being the <br />first shutout in a 3 -A title game since 1986. <br />btttiott M. The Council salutes all of the persons who contribute to the Indians <br />Football program including the players, the coaches and managers, the educators, and the <br />parents and friends of the players who have established and maintained a balanced and <br />effective athletic program for others to emulate. <br />64WOU IV.
