Box 4218 South Bend, IN 46634 <br />?? <br />Phone (574) 235-9988 Fax (574) 235-9950 <br />? <br />www.silverhawks.com <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Amy Hill <br /> December 3, 2008 Director of Sales & Marketing <br /> <br /> <br />Silver Hawks Coaching Staff Returns for 2009 Season! <br /> SOUTH BEND, IN – The Arizona Diamondbacks and South Bend Silver Hawks have <br />Mark Haley <br />announced that will return as skipper of the Silver Hawks for the 2009 season. <br />Haley enters his sixth year as a minor league skipper and fifth year with the Silver Hawks. <br /> Last season, Haley led the Silver Hawks to a second half Eastern Division title and <br />Midwest League Championship appearance. The Silver Hawks finished the 2008 regular season <br />with a record of 76-63. The full coaching staff will return for the 2009 season. Haley stated that <br />he “is excited to keep the coaching family together and looks forward to another great season of <br />Silver Hawks Baseball”. <br />Erik Sabel <br /> enters his fifth year of coaching and returns for a second year as the Silver <br />Hawks pitching coach. Prior to joining the Silver Hawks in 2008, Sabel spent three years with <br />nd <br />the Yakima Bears (Diamondbacks, Low A). Sabel was a 42 round selection in the <br />Diamondbacks first-ever June draft in 1996 and spent time in High Desert, Tulsa, El Paso and <br />Tucson before reaching the Major Leagues and winning a World Series with the Diamondbacks. <br />Francisco Morales <br /> returns for his second season as the Silver Hawks hitting coach. <br />Morales spent 2007 with Yakima and the previous two seasons coaching at the Diamondbacks <br />academy in the Dominican Republic. Morales began his playing career in 1991 when he was <br />signed by the Chicago Cubs and assigned to the Huntington Cubs. He spent time with 13 <br />different clubs over his playing career. <br /> <br />
