NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. The Common Council supports and approves a Take Home <br />Vehicle Program for the South Bend Police Department, the exact <br />rules and regulations governing the same to be adopted and <br />implemented by the Police Department. <br />2. The Common Council supports and approves the <br />acquisition by the City, subject to all applicable public <br />purchasing laws, of a sufficient number of police vehicles to allow <br />the implementation of a Take Home Vehicle Program by the Police <br />Department. <br />3. The Common Council approves the financing of such <br />acquisition through the execution of a lease agreement for the <br />acquisition of equipment essential to the operations of the City: <br />Provided, however, that the terms and conditions of any such lease <br />agreement shall be presented to the Common Council for its <br />consideration and approval. <br />4.
