'O...S�,.;., %:;:F:RTI.:icT <br />DECL;RLj'G Aid : „CRGC�CY <br />VIERZAS, the Board of Public "]orks and Safety has sold ten (10) <br />used automobiles of the Police Department, and <br />"Vi 3REAS, said Board has purchased ten (10) new automobiles for the <br />use of such Department, and <br />'iIR A,, such sale and purchase was accomplished by selling the <br />used automobiles under authority of the Co,nmon Council of the City of South <br />Bend to the highest bidder for cash rather than by the usual ni-ans of a trade- <br />in for new vehicles, since it was believed that such direct sale would be <br />advantageous to the City of South Bend, and <br />?MREAS, the motor equipment fund of the Police Departnent is now <br />short of necessary and required funds. <br />NO .. ", TFIEF;hFORZ, be it ordained by the Co,,unon Council of the City of <br />South Bend, Indiana, that: <br />1. The amount of < >7,158.00 be, and the same is hereby, transferred <br />from the general fund of the City of ,South Pend, Indiana, to Budgetary Item No. <br />P724, motor equipment, in the budget of the Police Department of the City of <br />South Bend for the year 1945. <br />2. The said smn so transferred be, and the same is hereby appropriated <br />for the uses and purposes of said budgetary item P724. <br />3. That because of the shortage of money in budgetary Account Ho. P724 <br />caused by the use of a direct sale method rather than a trade -in method, an <br />emergency now exists, since the funds obtained from the sales of the used cars <br />were paid directly to the general fund of toe city. <br />4.
